Gleanings: The morning of the Stuttgart symposium with introductions and keynote speeches

Around 90 participants from the high schools in the Stuttgart area received an introduction to the topic in the morning on the Stadtmitte campus. Volker Oechsle, representative of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts, presented the BESTOR project, and Michaela Koehl and Carolin Henken from the ZML presented the BESTOR sub-project OLGA, before the participants immersed themselves in the topic of career and study orientation with three keynote speeches.

In the first keynote speech, Christina Schleuer, Head of Vocational and Academic Orientation at the Gymnasium of the Stuttgart Regional Council, talked about the anchoring of the guiding perspective of vocational and academic orientation in the 2016 education plan. She also provided an overview of the individual currently available modules on the topic of vocational and academic orientation, such as the administrative regulation of September 2016, the subject Economy / Vocational and Academic Orientation (WBS) for grades 8 to 10 and the guide as a pillar of the BOGY process leading to the course level.

Reiner Laue from the Central Student Advisory Service of the University of Stuttgart presented the offers for study orientation of his institution in the second keynote speech.

In the third keynote speech, Claudia Prusik from the Baden-Württemberg regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency highlighted the vocational guidance services offered by the agency and explained how tandems between schools and employment agencies can be optimally established or used.
