Current dates of ILIAS training courses

The ILIAS workshops usually take place in the rooms of the ZML, Karl-Friedrich-Str. 17, building 08.03. The registration is done via the registration form, which is linked at the respective dates.

All ILIAS workshops are held in German.

Webinar: Basics on ILIAS

For The ILIAS workshop for beginners is aimed at lecturers who would like to use ILIAS in their courses in the future, but have little or no experience with the ILIAS learning platform. In this workshop we will teach you the basics of setting up virtual learning environments in ILIAS for use in teaching.

 

The following topics will be covered:

 

  • how to create and design your own course environment in ILIAS
  • how to define access rights and roles in a course
  • how to structure course content and materials
  • how to supervise exercises via ILIAS.

The event is designed as a workshop. This leaves plenty of room to try out applications yourself. In addition, the workshop offers you an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with lecturers from other departments on the use of e-learning.

Webinar: Accompanying lectures with ILIAS

The workshop is aimed at KIT lecturers who would like to use ILIAS more intensively in their lectures in the future. In two blocks, central areas of the use of virtual course rooms to accompany a lecture will be covered.

 

The block on material management is dedicated to topics such as:

 

  • Different ways to manage information and learning materials in a meaningful way
  • Selected objects for the distribution of learning material, apart from the classical file upload
  • Automation of processes such as deadlines and submissions

 

The block on structuring courses with ILIAS covers the following points:

 

  • Different possibilities to structure the course room
  • Session-based structure
  • Context-based structure

 

The event is designed as a workshop so that there is plenty of room to try out the application yourself. In addition, the workshop offers you an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with lecturers from other departments on the use of ILIAS.

Webinar: Accompanying seminars with ILIAS

The workshop is aimed at KIT lecturers who would like to use ILIAS more intensively in their courses in the future. Thematically, the event is dedicated to the use of virtual course rooms to accompany smaller courses such as seminars.

 

In the course of the workshop, selected objects for material and activity management, especially for smaller courses, will be discussed and tested:

 

  • Different possibilities for information and control in virtual learning spaces.
  • Selected objects for collaborative work of students
  • Automation of processes such as topic assignment and project submission

 

Furthermore, different possibilities for structuring virtual course rooms, especially seminar-like courses, will be discussed.

 

  • Group-based course room
  • Topic-based course room

Webinar: Test creation in ILIAS

The learning platform ILIAS offers with its test tool a powerful tool to implement tests online. In the event, you will first receive an introduction to test creation with ILIAS. With regard to upcoming digital semesters, different possibilities for the implementation of e-exams will also be discussed. This will result in the following topics:

 

  • Design possibilities in ILIAS for the creation of questions
  • Settings for the execution and evaluation of tests
  • General hints for the creation of multiple choice questions
  • Setting up OpenBook Exam@Home

 

The event is designed as a workshop so that there is plenty of room to try out the application yourself. In addition, the workshop will provide you with an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with instructors from other departments on the use of online testing.

Webinar: Page Design and Styles

The workshop is aimed at KIT lecturers already familiar with ILIAS who would like to design their ILIAS course rooms more intensively and individually. The focus of the workshop is on the in-depth structuring and design of ILIAS course rooms. Thematically, the following areas for the design of virtual course rooms in ILIAS will be covered in the event:

 

  • Structuring elements and levels ILIAS page design
  • Design elements and their application ILIAS page design
  • Setting up own style classes Contact persons at the ZML

 

In an introductory block, the elements for structuring an ILIAS course room are first presented in a condensed form and the respective application possibilities and limitations are illuminated.

 

The second block is dedicated to the page design options in ILIAS. Here, the various elements of the "Design page" option are dealt with and their possible uses are presented and discussed. These include, for example:

 

  • Text blocks and column design
  • Material lists
  • Accordions
  • Images/audio/video
  • Blocks

 

The third block shows the possibilities of adapting existing style elements for page design and creating your own.

 

The event is designed as a workshop with a focus on creating your own page design and styles.
