Digital continuing education tools for skilled workers in the trade - The DiKraft project

With its "Energy Efficiency Strategy for Buildings", the German government has set itself the goal of making the building stock in Germany almost climate-neutral by 2050 and reducing primary energy requirements by around 80 percent compared to 2008. Energy-efficient building refurbishment plays a key role in this context, resulting in a potential future market for the craft trades. New challenges lie in the digital networking of processes, in the intelligent control of several consumers and in storage technology. Since several tradesmen usually work in parallel in the case of energy-related refurbishment by the trades, there is an increased need for further training and communication.

The project DiKraft – Digital cross-sector service and further education network for the skilled worker of tomorrow – is dedicated to this need and addresses skilled workers and trainees from the skilled trades. Compact learning modules, so-called Learning Nuggets, are being created for them, which are to be accessible directly on the construction site using mobile devices. Intuitive access should make it easier for craftsmen to strengthen their competence in the area of cross-sector processes. In addition, an online community for networking is to be established. At the end of the project, coaching for the participants for the systematic development of services will also be available. The ZML participates in the conception and development of these instruments. The focus is on the overall media-didactic concept, the production of the Learning Nuggets and the determination of the potential for services on the basis of digital innovations.

The project started in April 2018 and will be funded by the BMBF with a sum of over one million euros over four years. fokus.energie has taken over the project coordination for the establishment of a transfer point for all trades involved in energy-efficient construction and energy-related building refurbishment as a platform for digital further education. Further project partners are the Institute of Management at DHI e.V. (itb), the Institute for Resource Efficiency and Energy Strategies IREES GmbH and the Internet and service provider for the trade FS Medien.
