Gleanings: Keynote speeches of the Karlsruhe conference on vocational and academic orientation for secondary school teachers in the morning of 22 June 2017

The morning offered the participants introductions and impulse lectures on topics of vocational and study orientation in the course level. They were designed by representatives of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts as well as the Ministry of Culture of Baden-Württemberg, the ZML and the working groups Gymnasium-Wirtschaft-Hochschule.

The first presentation by Stefanie Wally from the Karlsruhe Regional Council showed the complex intertwining of the guiding perspective of vocational and academic orientation in the 2016 education plan - from the starting point in SEC I to the course level in which the guide for teachers plays an important role as an action orientation.

Subsequently, teacher and working group member (AK Gymnasium- Wirtschaft - Hochschule) Felix Ewinger from Baden-Baden focused on implementation proposals for Module 7 of the guide, which deals with the topic of "external advice and information" for the study and career orientation process.

Florian Schuller, teacher and working group member from Pforzheim, contributed the third keynote lecture: he examined the role of parents in the process of study and career orientation.
