MOOCs for the international project on communication technologyThe ZML participates in the network CLICS - Continuous Learning in International Collaborative on communication technology, of which the KIT is a member. The other members are Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh/USA, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Waseda University in Tokyo/Japan and the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) in Nara/Japan.

The members of CLICS develop international education and training courses that are accessible to a large number of participants and are intended to contribute to lifelong learning. The focus is on the production of three international MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on the topics

  • Automatic speech recognition
  • Machine translation
  • Robotics

The ZML was responsible for the technical implementation of these MOOCs, which took place between 2016 and 2018.

CLICS was created as part of the cooperation community interACT (International Center for Advanced Communication Technologies) . This consists of eight renowned universities and research institutions in Europe, the USA and Asia and is committed to the internationalization of study programs, courses of study.
